Kathleen M. Meier

bio2 (2)Kathy Meier (formerly Hagen) has been with the law firm of Watson & Dameron since 1993, initially working as a law clerk and then hired as an associate at the firm immediately after graduating from law school in May of 1994.  She was born and raised in Kansas City, living most of her childhood in Clay County, now raising her family for over 20 years in Platte County and working in Jackson County.

Since earning her juris doctorate, Kathy has tried more than 100 cases involving personal injury litigation before state and federal courts in Missouri and Kansas. Always and exclusively representing the injured person, the victim, the person who has no voice and deserves a voice in order for justice to be served. Kathy becomes their voice.  She limits her representation to only men, women and children who have been injured as a result of another’s negligence, including those injured at the hands of a reckless car or truck driver, a careless doctor or surgeon, an inattentive nurse, an absent nursing home care giver or a shoddy business owner who fails to properly maintain his or her establishment.

Not only does she litigate such actions, but she continues representing those individuals after obtaining a verdict through her appellate practice. With only 2 trial losses in 20 years of litigating, she has successfully upheld every verdict that she has earned for her clients during the appellate process.  She prides herself on not only being a strong, aggressive advocate in the courtroom but a top-notch legal researcher and writer.  She has argued in front of state and federal appellate courts, including the Missouri Supreme Court.  She also co-authored a brief submitted to the Arkansas Supreme Court which led to an immediate change to some very “bad law” in regards to tort reform in Arkansas to the benefit of anyone who lives or travels through the state of Arkansas.

However, without hesitation, Kathy would tell you that she feels most “at home” in the courtroom trying cases beside her clients. Her opponents often describe her as tough, thorough, tenacious and an attorney who won’t back down to anyone.
